The hand grenade image by Arbus hung alter-like in a photography studio where I once worked. Not long ago I revisited the Patricia Bosworth biography about Diane Arbus. A somber tale certainly, reflecting the work of Arbus, her state of mind, and the city of New York at that period. The Met website has a page for the photograph and the Park Avenue Armory has an Arbus show starting in June.
